Bing & Grøndahl
Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl teamed up with the brothers Jacob and Meyer Herman Bing to open their porcelain factory “Bing & Grøndahl” in 1853. They begin by producing statuettes and bisque porcelain subjects.
In 1880, the three sons of Jacob Herman Bing took over the business together and decorated their works by reworking designs in the style of the Royal Copenhagen company.
Between 1920 and 1930, Bing and Grøndahl diversified their production with sandstone pieces, animal subjects and other decorative pieces, then the company made some dishware and reissued some of its old models from the 1940s and 1950s.
Finally, the Royal Copenhagen company which Bing and Grøndahl were in competition with (without ever exceeding it) bought the establishment in 1987.
