Lalique
1885, René Lalique takes over his first workshop in Paris after having apprenticed with the famous jeweler Aucoc.
He created the French company “René Lalique” in 1888 in Switzerland.
At the end of the 19th century, he quickly became famous in the Art Nouveau style, producing exceptional jewelry, vases and decoration. He immediately becomes a reference.
From 1890 until the beginning of the 20th century, René Lalique turned to working with glass and installed his factory in Alsace, which still works today. His productions are then inspired by Art Deco.
The company shifted towards crystal after the death of René Lalique in 1945 when his son Marc took over. Now the world-renowned Maison Lalique stands out in many fields, decoration, jewelry, perfume bottles, contemporary art, while collaborating with major brands and prestigious artists and designers.
