Wedgwood
Wedgwood is an English manufacture of earthenware founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood.
He is at the origin of the creation of several materials including the most famous “Jasper” in 1774 which is in fact a fine unglazed sandstone.
Wedgwood earthenware is particularly known for its decorations in white reliefs on a blue background representing scenes and characters of ancient inspiration. This famous blue shade has its own name “Wedgwood blue”.
We find Wedgwood on the tables of British monarchs and of the greatest English hotels, the Vatican, the White House or the Kremlin.
The Jasper is now abandoned in favor of porcelain.
Today the international brand continues to create modern and refined collections of tableware and decorations.
