PQ : QUEILLE family - a paddle
Silversmith hallmark : PQ and an antic paddle.
Silversmith : Eugène Queillé or his son, Elvire Queillé
They are a great family of silversmiths during the XIXth century.
Between 1847 and 1874 Eugène used his mark which comes from his grandfather and father Pierre François Queillé father (that’s why it is PQ). He works at 8 petite rue Saint Roch Poissonnière in Paris.
In 1874 the workshops moved at 11 rue des petits-Carreaux, his son Elvire works with him using his same mark until 1880 when Eugène dies.
Elvire continues working and using this mark until 1895.
This year Antoine Lapparra takes over a part of the company and Elvire’s son, Emile Pierre Queillé continues working.

Silversmith hallmark : PQ and a double paddle
Silversmith : Pierre François Queillé II or “son”, entered his mark on the 23rd of October 1834 and struck it off on the 27th of November 1846, year of his death. The workshops were set at 70 rue du Faubourg Montmartre.
He is the son of Pierre François Queillé I or “father” and the famous silversmith Eugène François Queillé’s brother.
Here is a different mark from the others familly members. The paddle is up side down.
This mark has not been clearly described or attributed to a Queillé.
It could be Emile Pierre Queillé’s mark, the last silversmith of the Queillé family.
He was the grandson of Eugène Queillé.
He worked at 11 rue des petits carreaux like his dad, Elvire Queillé.
He continues working as a silversmith after Antoine Lapparra bought a part of the enterprise in 1895.
